2024 Honda Insight Redesign, Release Date, Specs

2024 Honda Insight Redesign, Release Date, Specs The 2024 Honda Insight is an outstanding illustration of how becoming environmentally responsible is becoming more accessible, cheaper, and more fashionable. The compact sedan is based on the attractive Honda Civic to get away from the weird design philosophy that so many electric vehicles seem to be drawn to. The Insight is still relatively current, two years after its thorough revamp in 2024, with even more standard features added in the coming year. In terms of performance, the engine hasn’t changed much. There is a combined 151.5 horsepower from the gas engine and the electric motors, and the sedan’s agile handling gives it a personality that Toyota Prius lacks.

Exterior Design

The 2024 Honda Insight is positioned between the Civic and the Accord; however, it has its unique front and taillight styles. It may be a hybrid, but it doesn’t appear as weird as some other offerings. The four-door sedan rides on 16-inch alloy wheels as standard, with 17-inch wheels available as an option. LED fog lights, a power sunroof, and exterior chrome elements are reserved for the Touring model.

Even though the Insight has a wheelbase of 106.3 inches, the same as the Civic, which has a smaller wheelbase, the Insight is large enough to comfortably seat all its occupants. Even though it’s just as tall as any other sedan at 55.6 inches, because of its narrow 71.6-inch width, it’s easy to cram into tight spaces. Compared to the Touring, the EX weighs only 2,987 lbs.

Interior Design

The Honda Insight is a roomy sedan, despite its smaller size. Like the outside, the inside isn’t very wealthy but is well-made and welcoming. Despite some hard plastics, the upper trims do a better job of concealing them by covering them with even more high-quality materials.

Though it lacks the base EX model, the available infotainment features gradually become more sophisticated. There are various features, such as cruise control, automatic air-conditioning, and LED ambient lighting throughout the range. On the Touring model of the Insight, leather-appointed motorized front seats make the car feel more luxurious than its price tag suggests.

Only a 5-inch LCD screen, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system are available in the LX’s infotainment system. But because of its simplicity, it is even simpler to use than the more sophisticated system found in higher trim levels. The EX’s new eight-inch touchscreen interface includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM/HD Radio, and an additional two speakers in the sound system.

The USB 2.0 port has been improved to a 2.5-amp USB 2.0 port. You’ll need to go up to the Touring trim level if you want navigation and Wi-Fi. In addition, a state-of-the-art audio system with ten speakers will be installed. Although the higher trims get complete capability, the system itself isn’t the most intuitive. However, it does the job.

2024 Honda Insight Engine

The Honda Insight stands powered by a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower and 99 pound-feet torque. The two electric motors, which generate 129 hp and 197 lb-ft of torque, are the primary power source. The sedan’s 151 horsepower comes from these two generators working together. The more robust motors do the heavy lifting, and the gasoline engine provides the electric charge.

A CVT transmission distributes the vehicle’s power to the front wheels only. Insight’s acceleration isn’t much to write home about compared to other hybrids. It’s easy to pass on the highway. However, the gas engine can be somewhat noisy. Still, the Honda Insight distinguishes from the crowd because of its energetic hybrid powertrain.

2024 Honda Insight Release Date and Price

The base LX model of the 2024 Honda Insight is available with a starting MSRP of $22,930. As a result of the additional $1,880 cost, the standard Honda Insight EX is now $24,810, while the Touring trim adds $28,840 to the price. These prices do not include taxes, registration, licensing, or the $955 handling fee from the manufacturer, which is $25 more than in 2023.
