2024 Honda CR-Z Review, Dimensions, HorsepowerA new front bumper and grille were added to Honda’s resident sport hybrid for the 2024 model year, following its 2010 debut. It was under the hood where the 1.5-liter, the gasoline engine was tuned to deliver an additional seven horsepower and the electric motor an additional six horsepower. In the 2024 model year, there are no major changes to the 2024 Honda CR-Z, other than slightly lower pricing. However, the CR-Z remains the only hybrid model with a manual transmission option, something we were expecting for.

Customers can pick between two trim levels: the $19,9952 entry-level CR-Z and the $21,840 entry-level CR-Z EX. Buyers of both vehicles can choose between a manual transmission and a CVT. Additionally, the EX option includes a navigation package that raises the price to $23,990 for buyers who choose to have the feature.

Exterior Design

There were no major changes to the CR-Z for the 2024 model year, therefore it remains unchanged. The 2024 Honda CR-Z external wedge shape and low-slung hood make it instantly recognizable to potential buyers. Since the CR-redesign Z’s last year, the front bumper has been reworked, and the grille has been reworked. A new front bumper and grille design, as well as an aerodynamic diffuser design, are the only outward alterations for the facelifted CR-Z. Interior Design

The CR-Z was custom-designed by Honda to have a high-tech appearance while also being user-friendly. There’s nothing new under the hood, so Honda hasn’t made any changes to the CR-Z powertrain for the 2024 model year. At 6,000 rpm, this system generates 130 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of peak torque. A 144-volt lithium-ion battery pack powers the electric motor. Additionally, it serves as a generator to replenish the battery’s kinetic energy when the vehicle is braking or coasting, as well as during acceleration.\

Econ, Normal, and Sport driving modes are all available in the hybrid system and may be selected by the driver to suit their needs. A “Plus Sport” mode is activated when the battery has at least 50 percent of its capacity remaining. A closer examination of the CR-Z stats reveals that its sporty exterior belies its true capabilities. The CR-Z reaches 60 mph in 8.8 seconds when equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, while the CVT increases that time to 9.2 seconds.

The CR-Z appearance and interior improvements were limited, but the engine changes were more than sufficient to compensate. Both the 1.5-liter gasoline engine and the electric motor were updated by Honda. An engine control unit (ECU) and variable valve timing (VVT) improvements have improved the 121 horsepower of the petrol engine (up from 114 horsepower). In addition to 20 horsepower, the electric motor now gets its power from a lithium-ion battery (up from 14 horsepower).

At 6,600 pm, the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system now generates a combined output of 137 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. As a result, the CR-Z now achieves a top speed of 124 mph and a 0-to-60 mph sprint time of just 9.0 seconds (down from 9.7 seconds). There’s also an S+ button on the steering wheel that activates the CR-Z’s Sport (S+) boost mode. When the battery is at least half-full, this revolutionary mechanism boosts acceleration for up to 10 seconds.
