2023 Honda Pilot Redesign, Release Date, Price – In recent years, both sales and prizes have favored the 2023 Honda Pilot. High sitting positions, spacious luggage spaces, kid-friendly interiors, and a deliberate approach to practicality have helped the 7 to 8-seater SUV prosper. Mid-cycle refreshes are commonplace in the 3-row crossover market. New fascia, grille, and taillights are just a few of the exterior’s unique features. In addition to a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster, the seats have broader armrests, and all bar the LX trim receive an 8-inch display for the infotainment system.
2023 Honda Pilot Redesign
Until now, only the most dedicated parents have ignored the stigma linked to minivans. With the old fascia gone, the Odyssey now has a more Accord-like feel than the minivan-like one that was there before. The designers have demonstrated control and not gone overboard by turning the dial up to macho in the 2023 Honda Pilot makeover. While it’s a given that many people choose larger SUVs due to their perceived status as family-friendly vehicles, Honda seemed unconcerned. We’ve seen some black plastic painted to resemble skid plates, which made us chuckle, but we’re not going to be too harsh because, well, it does help boost the style.
Even without looking at the logo or the plastics, the Pilot’s interior screams Honda. It’s easy to notice the Pilot’s care when you start exploring, and it’s a pleasure to use. There are plenty of cubbies and cupholders in the central storage, which is deep and ample. Behind the front seats, there is plenty of room, and second-row captain’s chairs can fit two adults and slide forward to access the third row.
In addition to the 8-inch touchscreen, the menus have been streamlined. The Elite AWD trim’s 10-speaker premium audio system isn’t as high-end as it could be, but it still sounds good. Even though Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren’t supported, the 7-inch screen nestled between the dials in the gauge cluster provides solid turn-by-turn instructions.
2023 Honda Pilot Engine
No turbocharged four-cylinder engine insight. In whatever model, you get Honda’s outstanding 3.5-liter VTEC V6 engine, fine-tuned and improved since 1996. In Honda Pilot spec, it has 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, which is crucial for getting its 4,000-pound weight moving. A 6-speed automatic and a 9-speed automatic are used to distribute power on cheaper models. For our Elite AWD variant, the EPA estimates it to get 19mpg in the city and 22mpg on the highway for a combined 22mpg. When equipped with the base two-wheel-drive six-speed transmission, the Pilot gets 19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the interstate, but it still gets 22 mpg overall. That puts the Pilot at the top of its class in terms of fuel efficiency.
Honda has reconfigured the nine-speed transmission for the 2023 refresh so that under regular driving inputs, you can quickly shift into second gear and get off the ground. To use this torque, you’ll need to bury the accelerator pedal in the carpet. As a bonus feature, the torque-vectoring AWD system visually represents how power is being distributed to each wheel in real-time.
The Honda Pilot SUV line is powered by a single-engine. The 3.5-liter V6 engine generates 276 lb-ft of torque for the front wheels in the lesser trim levels, while the all-wheel powertrain is standard on the more expensive models. The LX, EX, and EX-L trims have a six-speed automatic transmission, while the more expensive Touring, Elite, and Black Edition vehicles have a nine-speed automatic gearbox.
