2023 Honda Passport Redesign, Release Date, ColorsThe 2023 Honda Passport, which was previously discontinued in 2002, will make a reappearance for the 2023 model year. It lived displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2023, and it fills the CR-V and Pilot gap. Many of the SUV’s underpinnings and drivetrain components are shared with Honda’s three-row Pilot and Ridgeline pickup trucks based on Honda’s Global Light Truck platform. However, it is marketed as a more rugged, off-road competent crossover because of its unibody structure. As a result, it is not a rebadged Isuzu like the previous Passport was. Exterior Design

The 2023 Honda Passport takes a lot of design ideas from the larger Pilot SUV, despite its lack of resemblance to the smaller Honda SUVs. It indeed stands on its own, yet there are a lot of parallels that can be drawn. For example, the headlights on the front of the vehicle are very similar to those on the Pilot. Small turn signals positioned on each side have been borrowed from its larger sibling, despite a differing LED bar design on the inside.

Crawling is made more accessible by the Passport’s lower overall length and shortened rear overhang, making it a better crawler. Many of the Pilot’s main elements were carried over to the rear of the Civic. The Passport has the same triangle headlights on both sides of the tailgate. On the other hand, Honda did away with the Pilot’s inside lights. Although this is unique, it’s refreshing to see something different in the crossover market. Interior Design

The Passport’s cabin arrangement isn’t anything out of the ordinary, so don’t hold your breath. Almost much of the Pilot’s interior was used in the design of this vehicle. The start button is in the same place on both the center console and the control panel. New controls have been installed in a gloss-black insert on the four-spoke steering wheel, which appears to be the same as the door panels.

Additionally, the lower-priced variants include a 5-inch infotainment display. The eight-inch touchscreen in the EX-L, Touring, and Elite trims is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Swiping, tapping, and pinching are all possible input methods for the new infotainment system. The top-of-the-line Touring and Elite models now provide complimentary 90-day/3GB trial 4G LTE wi-fi for up to seven devices.

The Passport has a seven-inch digital instrument cluster that displays detailed trip computer statistics, audio system information, and phone information like any other new Honda. The steering wheel commands produce it easy to look through the available options. Honda integrated a multi-view rear-view camera as standard for enhanced convenience. It’s much easier to hook up the SUV to a trailer with the overhead view option.

It’s not surprising that the two SUVs have the same engine because they ride on the same platform. The Passport is a welcome development, an advantage over most of its competitors who have smaller, four-cylinder engines or less powerful V-6 motors. Powered by Honda’s new nine-speed automatic transmission, which is also found in the Pilot and other cars, the V-6 is coupled to the engine. A two-wheel-drive system is typical; however, the i-VTM4 AWD system can be added. Active vectoring transfers up to 70% of the torque to the rear axle and up to 100% of that to either the left or right wheel in this all-wheel-drive system. This setup makes it easier to control the vehicle in rainy or snowy conditions and on sandy trails.

2023 Honda Passport Price and Release Date

The Passport will be available in four trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite, the last being the most expensive. Two- and four-wheel drive options are available on all versions except the Elite variant. There are also 20-inch alloy wheels and tires on all models and Honda Sensing, LED lighting, Smart Start and Smart Entry, and three-zone auto temperature control.

However, given that the Passport will be placed between Honda’s CR-V and its Pilot sibling, it should be able to fill that gap in terms of price. Between $27,000 and $29,000, the Passport’s starting price should be comparable to the CR-and V’s the Pilot’s.
